Wearable device to fight the pandemic

To fight the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Prodigy™ “Disposable Electronics Wristband – DEW” is a wearable tracking solution is designed to assist medical authorities to track persons who require to undergo quarantine at designated place. The DEW wristband when paired with a mobile application ascertain the person is staying at the designated places, provides alerts in case person leave the designated place or tampers with the device and supports an efficient management of the quarantine process.

ABOUT THE DEVICE

The wristband is developed using the Nordic NRF52805 controller, an SoC ARM Cortex-M4 processor clocked at 64MHz. This single-mode system fully supports the 2.4GHz RF beacon technology.

Using 2.4GHz RF connectivity, the DEW-band communicates with a paired smartphone, from where an iOS and Android companion app can be used to customize the device, input personal information, and view graphical representations of current and past data.

The wristband communicates on standard beacon protocols, including Apple™ iBeacon™ and Hong Kong Health department Stay-at-Home SHS protocol. The 2.4GHz RF data packet broadcasts every one second. (Data includes company id, model/ major/ minor no., battery level, operation mode, strap connection/ magnetic sensor status). Each wristband has a security lock to prevent tampering. Once activated, it alerts the central administration system for deactivation/ removal.

Powered with a 3V primary Lithium battery inserted, the wristband can operate in active mode up to 12 months based on beacon broadcast interval; and lasts for multi-year sleep mode when kept in storage. The wristband easily meets the 2 to 4 week quarantine requirement set by the hospitals and public health departments.

APPLICATION

Health quarantine applications at home or in hospitals. Patient monitoring at medical facilities. Elder patient safety monitoring. The wristband is also capable for the usage in access control, micro-payments transactions and other customized solutions.

MECHANICAL

The wristband weighs only 12 grams with adjustable wrist strap of 195mm in length and 16mm in width. The main case is 58mm in length and 36mm in width.

The wristband is made with a durable TPU material that has great characteristics in both flexibility and strength. It is also water resistant and friendly to the environment.

SAFETY – CE certification mark.

This product fully meets the technical requirements of CE, indicates that it has been assessed by the manufacturer and deemed to meet EU safety specifications and standards.
